OUR WHY?

Children’s safety is paramount to us therefore, we believe that every child and young person deserves to be cared for in an environment where he/she feels safe, loved and genuinely cared for and by people that value children’s rights. We believe that every child is accepted, and his/her identity is valued and promoted. We also believe in the active participation and empowerment of every young person/child. How?

We believe in the same the vision of the department of Children, youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs, that ‘Queensland children and young people are cared for, protected, safe and able to reach their full potential”. We therefore choose to change the below description of young people and children. Cultural sensitivity/Competence

We Observe important holidays, cultural meal and beliefs that make the young person a unique individual. Young people might feel devalued if their cultural heritage or what is important to them is ignored or not celebrated. We excel at JCC in promoting and celebrating the cultural heritage of the people we provide support to.
